“Luce Filante” illuminates the Venice Guggenheim

    Published on 04 July 17

"Luce Filante" is an exhibition that traces the evolution of the unique and ground-breaking style of Mark Tobey, that fully represents the international and modernist spirit of the mid-twentieth century. Over 70 works that blend East and West, ranging from traditional Chinese painting to European Cubism.

The union of different cultures is the life-blood of creativity, an inspirational blend, as shown in this European retrospective, the first for this great American artist in over twenty years.

Art is often contradictory, radical, extraordinary. It is a momentum towards the unknown so far ahead on the avant-garde that it is not immediately attributable to the canons of its own time. Lavazza celebrates this natural pioneering spirit, the same spirit that is representative of the brand’s history and of the Guggenheim Foundation, by nurturing artists like Mark Tobey and continually spreading and promoting their work in Italy and throughout the world.

Because art, just like a good coffee, is a pleasure to be shared.
