At Lavazza, we believe enjoying great coffee shouldn't come at the cost of the planet. That’s why we’ve partnered with TerraCycle®, a global leader in recycling, to support our capsule recycling efforts.

We offer two dedicated recycling solutions. Our industrially compostable capsules can be disposed of via local council food‑waste or composting collections, where accepted, or through our TerraCycle® Eco Caps Composting Programme. Our new plastic capsules can be recycled exclusively through the Lavazza A Modo Mio Recycling Programme with TerraCycle®. Both options are free and easy to use, helping you recycle your used capsules responsibly.

Since launching in October 2019, we’ve already recycled millions of capsules that might have ended up in landfill. Together, we’re making a difference, one cup at a time.

Recycling your used capsules is simple:

1. Join the Programme
Visit the TerraCycle website to sign up and join the relevant Lavazza A Modo Mio recycling programme for your capsules.

2. Collect Your Capsules
After brewing your coffee, collect your used A Modo Mio capsules. There’s no need to clean or empty them—just let them cool and store them in a box or bag.

3. Drop Off or Ship for Free
Drop off your capsules at a local public collection point.

4. Become a collection point (optional)
If there isn’t a collection point nearby, create a new collection point that is convenient for you. This could be your home, workplace or other location. Always remember to check permission first!
